Kijkwijzer

Kijkwijzer warns parents and children whether a film, series or television programme may be harmful for children of a certain age.

To do this, Kijkwijzer uses age recommendations: All Ages, 6 years old, 9 years old, 12 years old, 14 years old, 16 years old and 18 years old.

Kijkwijzer also uses pictograms that show the reason for a certain age recommendation: violence, fear, sex, discrimination, drug- and/or alcohol abuse, and coarse language.

The European Committee considers Kijkwijzer to be best practice when it comes to handling the protection of minors from harmful imagery.
